Beth’s Corner: Moving Toward Your Dream

There’s a difference between having a dream and taking steps toward it.

For many of us, the distance between where we are and where we want to be can feel so great that we don’t know where to begin.

We think we need a better plan.
We wish we had more time.
We wonder how to find more confidence.
We wait for a sign that we’re ready.

Meanwhile, the dream stays somewhere in the future.

What if we gave ourselves permission to begin with one small step? A phone call. A question. A date on the calendar. A few words written down.

We don’t have to see the whole path to take the next step. And confidence often grows as we move.

Today, ask yourself:

“What is one small thing I could do in the next five minutes that would move me toward this dream?”

Then give yourself those five minutes.

Your dream deserves a place in your life today.

I will share mine as I’m very excited….

Dreams Do Come True

There’s a difference between having a dream and moving toward it. As I look at the year ahead, I’m seeing some of my dreams become plans.

Service has always been part of my life—at home and in faraway places. I’m not much for traditional vacations. I prefer being a traveler: learning, laughing, experiencing other cultures, and finding ways to contribute.

Over the coming year, I have a Soul Sister cultural retreat in Mexico for Day of the Dead, a spirituality conference in Thailand, a retreat and service work in South Africa, and a vacation in Spain. In between, I’ll continue helping others through my telehealth work.

These experiences bring together so much of what I love: service, connection, curiosity, and adventure.

Dreams don’t always happen all at once. Sometimes they take shape through one conversation, one decision, or one small step.
