From Vietnam to the VA: Warren Gregory is Staying in the Fight
Warren grew up on Long Island and graduated from Fordham College in 1966. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, earned his commission, and served in Vietnam July of 1968 till June of 1969 as a S-2/S-3 Air Control Officer. Following his military service, Warren spent several years in Washington, D.C. as a lobbyist before transitioning into the financial sector in 1980, where he remained until relocating with his family to Texas in 1999.
In Texas, Warren found a new calling in public service. He became involved with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a national organization that supports children in foster care through advocacy and guidance within the family court system. Inspired to deepen his impact, Warren earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston in 2009, where he was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, the National Honor Society. He became a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and rejoined the Army as a Behavioral Health Specialist at Fort Hood, providing pre-clinical care to returning veterans.
After moving to California in 2010, Warren continued his advocacy work with CASA. In 2013, he joined the Mental Health Association of Westchester’s CASA program in New York. He now holds an LMSW license in New York State and continues to support veterans through outreach programs and his alma mater, Fordham University. In 2024, Warren was a featured speaker at the New York State Suicide Prevention Forum and remains actively involved in one-on-one work with service members.
Warren’s lifelong commitment to service—both in uniform and as a civilian—reflects his deep dedication to the well-being of vulnerable youth and veterans alike. If you're struggling and would like to talk with a fellow veteran, please reach out to us so we can connect you to Warren.
