Meet Amanda
Introducing Amanda: A Coach for the Children of Valkyrie Members
When a service member carries the weight of the mission, their family carries it too — and the kids feel that weight in their own way. School stress, social struggles, moves between bases, or just the ordinary hard parts of growing up — these are the moments where having someone in your corner makes all the difference. That's why we're so glad to introduce Amanda to the Valkyrie Ranch community.
Amanda joins us as a coach for the children and teenagers of Valkyrie members, bringing more than 30 years of experience working with kids and the parents who love them.
Three Decades of Walking Beside Families
Amanda's career began in a psychiatric hospital as a family group specialist before she moved into education — spending nine years in the classroom and then twenty-one years coordinating services for children across her county's school system. She has sat across from parents in some of the hardest meetings of their lives, translating dense educational and medical language into something a parent could actually use. And before any family left the room, she made sure of one thing:
They walked out with hope for their child's future.
That conviction is what she's bringing to Valkyrie Ranch.
What Amanda Offers Our Families
Amanda is the kind of person you call when something feels off and you don't quite know where to start. For Valkyrie families, she can help with:
Questions about child development and whether milestones are on track
Understanding what's happening with a child socially, behaviorally, or academically
Navigating meetings with teachers, counselors, or school administrators
Coaching parents on how to advocate for their kids with confidence
Helping families think through transitions — new schools, new bases, new stages
Whether a parent has a specific concern or just wants a thoughtful sounding board, Amanda is here for it.
We're honored to welcome her to the team. If you're a Valkyrie member and you'd like to connect with Amanda about your child or teen, please reach out — we'll make the introduction.
