Beth’s Corner: What Is Your Body Trying to Tell You?
Before your next test, prescription, procedure, or surgery, ask yourself:
How many doctors have I seen?
How many tests have I had?
How many prescriptions am I taking?
How many procedures or surgeries have I undergone?
Have I also explored what stress, grief, trauma, loss, loneliness, burnout, or unresolved emotions might be contributing?
Consider These Questions
What was happening in my life when these symptoms began?
What stress was I carrying?
What emotions was I avoiding?
What relationship was draining me?
What loss had I not grieved?
What boundaries did I need but wasn’t setting?
What was my body protecting me from?

The Body Keeps Score
Your symptoms are real.
Your pain is real.
Your illness is real.
This is not about imagining symptoms or ignoring medical care.
It is about becoming curious.
Sometimes the body is carrying a story the mind hasn’t yet processed.
A Different Question
Instead of only asking:
“How do I get rid of this symptom?”
Try asking:
“What might this symptom be trying to teach me?”
Remember
The goal is not to blame yourself for illness. Compassion,
The compassion you give everyone else.
The goal is to listen.
The body and mind are not separate systems.
They are one conversation.
The mission is not perfection.
The mission is understanding.
The mission is you.
